Before Bro Eli died, he made a correction to his teaching. He said, Catholic Church cannot be the great babylon bec of this verse:
Revelation 18:24
[24]And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
He said it cannot be the catholic church bec the death of OT prophets and all the death beginning from abel is accountable on her. The catholic church wasnt existing that early thus it cannot be it.
I beg to disagree. He overlooked the necessary clarifications to these matters thus he judged through face value which is wrong. For example in saying prophets the greek term used was Prophetes to mean “an inspired speaker”. This isnt necessarily prophets of old times. These could be alleged heretics during the inquisition and some jewish believers during the crusades killed by the authority of the catholic church. Next, he said all the death beginning from abel is accountable on her. This kind of rhetorics is jumping to conclusion that its in general terms. Not bec it say All then it must be general bec even that was used in many other verses yet not implying a generalization. Heres an example:
Daniel 7:13-14
