In my previous post, I have proven the errors of the catholic eucharist. It’s evident flaw is manifested as I have shown the inefficiency of the biblical eucharist to be practiced literally, as it suggests the use of that particular one cup of the holy supper, in the mass commemoration of it which is physically impossible to achieve. One cup must be used in the eucharist for the million of believers. It could only be achieved spiritually—thus the cup we drink from in remembrance of Jesus must be spiritual.
1C 11:23 . For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the [same] night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1C 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1C 11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.
1C 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
“THIS CUP (one cup only) is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me”
“For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink THIS CUP (the cup that jesus used), ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come”
Clearly as proven, the cup that we use in commemoration of Jesus, is “THIS CUP”, the cup that jesus used. It is called as the new testament in his blood.
Which is the new testament in his blood we are required to drink in remembrance of jesus?
It did not say, your cups, catholics!
It say, drink THIS cup, do we literally drink the cup?
NO! its figure of speech called metonymy.
METONYMY: In Metonymy the name of one thing is substituted for another thing with which the original one is loosely connected.
- Container for the thing contained
Examples: a) The whole class (students of the class) laughed.
b) He drank the fatal cup (poison of the cup).
c) England (the people of England) hath need of thee.
d) Who steals my purse (money) steals trash.
Therefore, drink THIS cup, implies drink the wine contained in THIS cup, particularly the cup of the last supper.
Clearly, what is said as the new testament in his blood is the literal cup that jesus used. We drink from it in remembrance of him, as the verses, suggested, but could it be possible for the million/s believers to drink in one cup? The only thing it could be possible, is for it to be spiritual. So what jesus actually mean by the eucharist is this, though the cup as the new testament in his blood is the literal cup, the future application of it for the million/s believer would acceptably be, in spiritual manner.
If “THIS CUP” is spiritual, what does it mean? What is the symbolic meaning of “THIS CUP”?
Does it symbolizes the multiple cups that catholics use or was it symbolic of other things?
WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT IT IS MULTIPLE CUPS?
Unless you invent, you cannot provide a biblical basis.
WHEREAS “THIS CUP” AS SPIRITUAL HAS BIBLICAL EXPLANATION.
Catholics use literal bread and call it the body of Christ, they use literal wine and call it the blood of Christ?
Where did they get the idea, that their multiple bread and multiple cups of wine, is the body and blood of Christ?
Lk 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake [it], and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
When jesus said THIS IS MY BODY, to which was it referring to?
The particular bread that they ate that supper, That is what Christ referred to as his body. Where did it say that it is, just any bread, the catholics use? Did it say it is the catholic bread?
Or any bread, for that matter?
No. it referred to the particular bread they ate.
So how shall we partake of it, as Christ required, in commemoration of him?
The only way it could be possible is for it to be spiritual.
Why did I say?
The mere fact that we are required to eat that bread they ate, suggest a deeper meaning, the bread we must eat is the spiritual bread, symbolized by the physical bread, bec how could million/s believers eat of the bread they already ate?
The mere fact that we are required to drink from one cup, the cup they used suggests a spiritual meaning, bec how could million/s believers drink of one cup?
This reality, irrefutable reality, only implies one thing. The biblical eucharist must only be done in spiritual manner.
What is the spiritual manner?
1C 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1C 10:17 For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Eating of the bread, spiritually speaking, means communion with the body of Christ.
But the apostles ate it already.
The other meaning for the body of Christ is the church so eating the bread actually means, communion or fellowship with the church.
Drinking from the cup, spiritually speaking, is to have communion with the blood of Christ.
The mere fact that the cup is spiritual as I have presented, provides us the idea that the blood of jesus as the wine, must necessarily be spiritual also. What is the spiritual meaning therefore?
Communion with the blood of jesus as drinking from the cup means partaking in the sufferings and death of Christ as cup symbolizes suffering and death.
Mk 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things [are] possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
So how does the bible requires us to do the eucharist?
By fellowship with the church and by partaking in the suffering and death of Christ.
That, for me, is the real eucharist. It is not how catholics practiced bec how could one cup, be used, for mass commemoration?
