INC CLAIMED FELIX MANALO IS THE ANGEL ASCENDING FROM THE EAST…
Re 7:2 And I saw another ANGEL ascending from the east…
the Greek word used:
from aggello (probably derived from G71; compare G34) (to bring tidings);
a messenger; especially an “angel”; by implication, a pastor.
Angel in the English Bible was merely a personal preference by the translators. In Greek it was “aggelos” which basically mean “messenger”. And “messenger” was any messenger especially an angel or it could be a pastor so as supplied by the Strongs Dictionary. TO BE ESPECIALLY AN ANGEL means, aggelos or messenger could be any other messenger as suggested by the bible, such as prophets, but aside from prophets it could ESPECIALLY be angels or if not, a pastor. When it say, BY IMPLICATION A PASTOR, implies messenger is a pastor. Meaning, when it say aggelos or messenger it is not always referring to angels, it could be prophets or pastors. Therefore to explain “messenger” as an angel or a pastor would be by the contribution of biblical context. When it said:
Rev 7:2 And I saw another “aggelos” ( MESSENGER) ascending from the east…
We are therefore clueless to what it means by MESSENGER without any supporting context, is it indeed an angel or as overlooked by most translators, a pastor? Or prophet if indeed there would be prophets?
If translators opted for pastor then that would eliminate the INC’s claim of Felix as an angel. The hanging question for all INC therefore is:
HOW SURE ARE YOU THAT “aggelos” (MESSENGER) IS AN ANGEL AND NOT PASTOR?
We on the other hand are sure that all angels are spirits.
NOWHERE DID THE BIBLE REFERS TO ANGELS AS FUNCTION AND NOT A STATE OF BEING OR A NATURE! ALL ANGELS ARE SPIRITS.
Hb 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Hb 1:14 Are they not “ALL” ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
FELIX MANALO IS NOT SPIRIT, THEREFORE HE IS NOT AN ANGEL!
Nevertheless the INC explained what is an angel in a rather contradictory note. THEY SAID, ANGEL IS NOT NATURE But then, said, ANGEL IS SPIRIT OR MAN IN STATE OF BEING (nature). CLEARLY, CONTRADICTION.
PASUGO May-June 1983, p. 18:
The word angel is the name of a function, not of a nature. For they are… called angels when they are sent.
PASUGO October 1997, p. 6:
An angel could be either a spirit or a man in state of being.
