Paul warned of wolves intrusion in the church after his departure which would be influential for some to apostate in heresy.

Acts 20:29-30

[29]For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

[30]Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

2 Peter 2:1

[1]But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Though wolves or false teachers intrude the church, there heresy would not prevail but be under swift destruction. The question is, who were these that intruded the early church which Paul led?

Note: Only one religion co-existed with the true church in its infancy and claiming to have been part of it, St. Ignatius being a disciple of St John, and claiming they were the successor of Peter’s throne: THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. Is it the wolf in the hen house?

Matthew 7:15-16

[15]Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

[16]Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

The only way to know is to look at their fruits–their works as a church. The true church has this distinction: major sins or gates of hell cannot dominate over it, as it say:

Romans 6:14

[14]For sin (mortal sin) shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

1 John 5:18

[18]We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not (mortal sin) but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Matthew 16:18

[18]And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The catholic church has been dominated by mortal sins such as murder (wars & crusades) and likewise idolatry. These were never apostolic.

Galatians 1:9

[9]As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

How was murder unapostolic?

It is against apostolic doctrines such as, no vehement desires, no revenge, be harmless, love your enemies and do not kill. Nowhere can we read any approval for war for the church. Being unapproved therefore crusades, wars by the catholic church is tantamount to murder. Warfare is only approved for the political government but not in religion, as it say,

2 Corinthians 7:11

[11]For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Philippians 2:15

[15]That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Even under threat of persecution through war and other means, no christian has any right to take up arms.

Matthew 5:44,46

[44]But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

[46]For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Murder is a mortal sin.

Revelation 21:8

[8]But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

And idolatry?
Its bec you kneel down to images in honor to the supreme beings they represents such as Mary and the saints which accdg to Moses is idolatry.

Exodus 20:4-5

[4]Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

[5]Thou shalt not SHACHAH (bowing down in honor to supreme beings or god) thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

That is idolatry, bowing down to images in honor to the supreme beings the images represents such as Mary and the saints as specifically a prohibition otherwise than a prohibition, if approved, then that is the time it could be a valid faith but without approval of kneeling and giving honor, it is idolatry. Bowing down to people, the ark and the temple with its images was approved by God.

Question: is the Catholic kneeling to images, and giving veneration to mary and saints approved by God?

Nope. Therefore, idolatry!

 And that is likewise a mortal sin as expressed above. And bec mortal sin, dominated the catholic church thereby a rejection to its claim as the true church and Ignatius a disciple of john but probably, Ignatius was heretic. It therefore qualifies them as the wolf in the hen house as they claim association to the early church.
