Here’s part of my conversation with an atheist:

My response:

OK. Let me expound my answer.

If you read the conversation, I have shown that earth or world is by context similar.

Earth in hebrew:

Hebrew: ארץ
Transliteration: ‘erets
Pronunciation: eh’-rets
Definition: From an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at {large} or partitively a land): – X {common} {country} {earth} {field} {ground} {land} X {nations} {way} + {wilderness} world.

World speaks of people.

Psalms 93:1

[1]The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Isaiah 13:11

[11]And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

It is founded upon the seas.

Psalms 24:1-2

[1](A Psalm of David.) The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

[2]For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Seas are people.

Revelation 17:15

[15]And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Jeremiah 51:42

[42]The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.

The earth or world is founded upon the seas–the people as it say,

Ecclesiastes 3:11

[11]He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Luke 17:21

[21]Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

That world or kingdom inside the people is what is mentioned as the earth is founded upon the seas. That world or kingdom is the world of righteousness shared among righteous people as it is set in the heart. In the christian time, that world or kingdom, set within the heart is the church of god, as it is the one communion among christians.

John 17:21

[21]That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

As you can see, the church is within each others heart–i in you and you in me–meaning, the entirety of the church is inside one another. Therefore clarifying the thought that, the earth–that is, the church is founded upon the seas. Upon the seas is symbolical of being within every believer, the world set in the heart of believers. That is the eretz, the world, the kingdom that was promised that cannot be moved.

Logically, it cannot be possible as all species of animals around the world cannot be contained in the arc.

What make others thought it was a global flood?

Genesis 7:19

[19]And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

They think its global bec of the term “under the whole heaven”. As I’ve shown with my conversation with the atheist, “whole earth” was used in context as the whole Babylonian empire. It doesn’t mean the whole globe. Therefore in like manner whole heaven could mean the whole heaven of a particular region of the earth.

Jeremiah 50:23

[23]How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

Whole earth speaks of the babylonian empire. Its not the whole globe as babylon never set foot upon the american soil and even the north pole…!

Therefore whole heaven in like application logically speaks of the whole heaven of a particular locality such as how it was during noah’s flood.

Proving further:

Genesis 7:24

[24]And the waters prevailed upon the ERETZ in hundred and fifty days.

As you can see the flood was over the ERETZ. ERETZ means earth at large or partitively a land. The correct definition is partitively a land seeing the impossibility of global flood. Therefore, whole heaven is the whole heaven that covers only that particular region–a partitively a land! Thus, partitively a heaven.
